The Comedy Shrine is proud to present Veteran Television Writer/Producer and Chicago native Diane Burroughs’ seminar on how to audition for television producers, “From Under Fives to Series Regulars – a Seminar for Stand-Up Comics, Improvisers and Aspiring Actors.”

A producer herself (Ms. Burroughs was the creator and show-runner for her own sitcom, “Still Standing” on CBS for four seasons), Diane knows firsthand the mistakes newcomers make when they step into “the room” with producers. Diane’s perspective is all part of her seminar,

Unlike a traditional acting class, Diane will present her unique point-of-view as one of the people who actually casts actors.  With over 25 years of major network experience in Los Angeles, working on such shows as Married with Children, Martin, and The Drew Carey Show, Ms. Burroughs has auditioned literally thousands of people looking for their “big break”.

Additionally, as part of the seminar, Diane requests participants bring a short monologue or scene from a favorite sitcom to audition with so she can give feedback and share insights for what you need to do to book the job.

Ms. Burroughs will also be available for a Q&A session after the seminar.

Adult Level 1 Improv

Teaches the fundamentals of improvisation for the non-professional actor. This class is also good for the actor with little to no experience in improv.
