The Comedy Shrine is pleased to announce it’s Summer Boot Camp Schedule.
this program teaches your pre-teen or teen all they need to know about Improv.
Aside from Improv comedy, this boot camp teaches so much more. The Comedy
Shrine Boot Camp will teach outside the box thinking , make it easier to speak up,
raise their hand, and instill a confidence in your child. As great as it is to be
outgoing on stage, it is even better to be outgoing
in life.

Michael will lightly touch upon what exactly goes into a Talk Show Portfolio, an SNL Sketch Packet, the construction of a Sitcom Spec Script and the development of a TV Pilot Presentation (all things he’s done), but the majority of his seminar will focus on what to do after you’ve created your body of submittable work: !) Navigating the WGA.ORG website; 2) Creating a list of AGENTS and AGENCIES and beginning a campaign toward being read; 3) Creating a list of CONTACTS: 4) Writing a generic LETTER to an agent, and much, much more. NEW Friday Late Night Shows!

Quality comedy costs too darn much! We hear you America! And The Comedy Shrine’s got three brand spanking new shows just for you! Incredible Standup and Improv comedy shows that cost only $10! That’s right … you read this right, Margaret … Only ten bucks … These shows are guaranteed to be light on the pocketbook, but heavy on the funny! (we just blew some girl named Margaret’s mind)
The Comedy Shrine is working with serveral new producers to bring together a variety of new shows for you on Fridays at 10pm!
First, THE CAMPFIRE COMEDY SHOW. This show is dedicated to bringing you the best Chicagoland has to offer in stand-up AND improv! The show changes from date to date. Sometimes it is all stand-up, sometimes it is both stand-up and improv! Either way, the comedians and improvisers often headline and feature in shows all over the Midwest. The first show on the 24th was absolutely hysterical! Definitely a show you don’t want to miss! No actual Campfire girls are ever harmed in the making of this show. Probably.
Second is the the DELINQUENTS OF COMEDY SHOW. This is a group of stand-up comedians who tour all over the Midwest, and their specialty is walking the line. This crew does and says whatever they like. Have you ever wanted to hear people say things out loud that some people just keep bottled up? This is definitely a show you would enjoy. Sometimes it’s a bit offensive, but that’s all a part of the experience! Definitely a hilarious show.
Third, we are starting our RAW TALENT SHOWCASE! This show will give you a sneak preview of today’s up and coming comedians handpicked from our Open Mic on Monday nights. These comedians are new to the scene and have too much talent to keep bottled up at an open mic, so we are bringing them to you!
And finally, the $153 DOLLAR TAG TEAM STAND-UP COMEDY CHAMPIONSHIP! Two teams of three stand-up comedians compete against each other for cash prizes! You get to vote who wins each round, and who will be coming back to defend the title. Comics come from all over Chicago and the Midwest compete to make you laugh and you choose who is best!
We are very happy to have these shows to The Comedy Shrine, and would love to have you come out and see one or two or all three of our Friday late night shows!
