The Shrine

It all started in January 2006 because Dave Sinker is crazy! Seriously, what grown man in his right mind would decide to jeopardize his children’s college educations and invest everything he has in a comedy theater. The kind of man who recognizes that we all have the need, especially these days, to laugh. So he enticed a group of some of the best comedians in the Chicagoland area, trained at the most prestigious comedy schools in the country, to come out to Aurora and entertain you.

The Comedy Shrine’s décor is unlike any other comedy theater in America. The walls and lobby of The Comedy Shrine feature comedy memorabilia and collectibles from the personal collection of The Comedy Shrine’s founder, David Sinker. This collection consists of over three hundred items representing such comic legends as The Marx Brothers, Charlie Chaplin, Abbott & Costello, The Three Stooges, and Laurel & Hardy.

The Comedy Shrine has a lounge area and provides a fully-stocked bar serving beer, wine, liquor soft drinks & snacks.
